We’re now in the Hilltops. Fleshy and lightly honeyed, it’s a peachy, stonefruit thing with a flush of juicy fruit and a Riesling-like citrus tang. A Riesling makers Albariño. It’s plenty fleshy, with just enough chalky tang, although you’d never pick the variety. Enjoyable fresh white, if a bit indistinct.

This Portuguese/ Galician variety has found a foothold in the Hilltops region of NSW.
Crafted by the Burdett / Rodeghiero team, it opens with grassy floral aromas and a front palate reflecting nectarine and grapefruit.
It’s fulsome and generous in flavour and finishes with a saline savoury grip.
A definite summer wine to be enjoyed whilst youthful and vibrant.
We matched ours with a dish of ricotta and spinach agnolotti.
