2023 Braidwood Riesling
2023 Braidwood Riesling
Our single vineyard Braidwood Riesling is hand picked from the Sapling Yard vineyard 25km north of Braidwood, opposite the Buddawang Range. The climate is cooler than Canberra and the soils consist of decomposed granite over a deep layer of silty clay allowing the vines to access enough nutrients to develop complex aromatic wines.
This Riesling is dry in style, with the residual sugar balancing the naturally high acidity. A delicate fragrant nose of white jasmine and crushed kaffir lime leaves, leading into a refined and elevated palate, finishing with a twist of lemon sorbet.

What the Reviewers are saying
“Sourced from Carla Rodeghiero’s vineyard in Braidwood, which I don’t think fits in any wine GI. Maybe Southern NSW would be the default region? Anyway, Braidwood is on the Great Dividing Range and cooler/higher than most of Canberra. Riesling from this plot is whole bunch pressed and fermented cool. Man this is tangy – an ocean of green apple and grapefruit citrus fruit. It’s a real acid-hound wine, but pristine green grapefruit flavours mark this so precise. Impressive, even if it’s going to be a little too honed for many.
”
“A subtle wine, in a way, as the aromas are delicate, a little floral, a little spicy with a hint of citrus. And while the palate is alive with talc-like acidity, it too has a subtleness: lemon bath salts, Meyer lemon juice and zest with a touch of lime. Refreshing and best served with food if drinking it as a young wine.”
“Pale lemon with lime tints. Fragrant with white flowers, lime zest and talc aromatics. Zippy and fresh on the palate with bright lemon and lime fruit and a zip of chalky acidity carrying it long.
